Privacy Policy

TheGuideX is an SEO and web consultancy led by Sunny Kumar. It is owned and operated by HeySERP Marketing Services. Our head office is at Plot No. 17, S/F, Kh. No. 31/24/17/14 and 25, Sector 7 Dwarka, New Delhi, Delhi 110075, India, and we have a virtual office at Henrietta, NY 14534, USA.

HeySERP Marketing Servicesdecides how the personal data described here is used, so it is responsible for that data (the “data controller”, or “data fiduciary” under India's data protection law). For any question or request about your data, email hello@theguidex.com. It reaches Sunny Kumar directly.

There are no accounts, no comments, and no newsletter. This is everything the site collects:

• The contact form. Your name, email, website (if you add it), and your message. If you allowed cookies, the message goes into our customer records in Gist, so we can reply and keep track of the conversation. If you did not, the form opens a pre-filled email instead, and you send it from your own inbox.
• The chat window. If you open the chat and write to us, Gist stores the conversation and any details you share.
• Email. If you email us, we receive your address, your name if you include it, and your message.
• Booking a call. When you book through our Cal.com link, Cal.com collects your name, email, and chosen time, and shares them with us so the call can happen.
• Usage data. Only if you allow cookies, Google Analytics and Gist record which pages are visited and how the site is used (details below). Our hosting and network providers keep standard request logs either way.

We use this to reply to you, to scope and deliver work you ask for, to understand which pages are useful, and to keep the site secure. We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.

The chat button in the corner is run by Gist. It loads only after you allow cookies, and even then it waits until you start using the page (a scroll, click, or key press) or for a short delay. Once it loads, Gist:

• records the pages you view on this site, so that if you contact us we can see what you were reading;
• sets its own cookies to recognise you on a return visit and keep any chat history;
• links that history to your name and email only if you send the contact form or give them in the chat.

If you say no to cookies, or your browser blocks Gist, the contact form opens a pre-filled email instead. Nothing you write is lost, and nothing reaches Gist.

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to see which pages are useful. It loads from googletagmanager.com only after you allow cookies. Once it loads, it records:

• the page you opened and the page or site you came from, including whether you arrived from an AI assistant such as ChatGPT or Perplexity;
• clicks on our calls to action, booking links, store and affiliate links, and email links;
• how far you scroll, what you search for on this site, and whether you start a video;
• device type, browser, operating system, screen size, and approximate location (country or city level);
• a random ID stored in a cookie, so repeat visits are counted once.

Google uses your IP address to estimate location, but GA4 does not log or store IP addresses. To opt out, open “Cookie settings” at the bottom of any page and choose “No cookies”, or use the Google Analytics opt-out add-on or a content blocker. The site works fully without it.

On your first visit, a banner asks whether we may use cookies for analytics and chat. Until you allow them, Google Analytics and Gist do not load and set nothing. You can change your answer any time through “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page. If you switch to “No cookies” later, we delete the cookies they set and reload the page.

• Your choice (tgx_consent): the only cookie we set ourselves. It remembers your answer for six months across theguidex.com and its store pages, then we ask again.
• Google Analytics (_ga, _ga_*), only if you allow cookies: a random visitor ID, kept for up to two years.
• Gist, only if you allow cookies: recognises a returning visitor and keeps chat history.
• Cloudflare: may set a short-lived security cookie to tell people from bots. It does not track you across sites.

There are no advertising or retargeting cookies. Videos use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode and load only when you press play. Fonts are served from our own domain, not from Google Fonts. You can clear or block cookies in your browser at any time.

Some links on deal, store, and review pages are affiliate links, and they pass through try.theguidex.comfirst. We record the click in Google Analytics. Once you land on the seller's site, the seller or its affiliate network may set its own cookies to credit the referral, under its own privacy policy. See the disclosure for how affiliate income works.

• Gist: chat, contact form records, and page-visit history.
• Google Analytics: usage measurement.
• Cal.com: call booking.
• Cloudflare: security and delivery for the site; keeps request logs such as IP address and browser.
• BunnyCDN: serves images and files; keeps standard request logs.
• Our hosting provider: stores the site files and keeps standard server logs.
• Email: messages you send us are stored by our email provider.

Each one handles data under its own privacy policy. None of them gets your data from us for its own marketing.

This section applies only if you use our TheGuideX SEO & GEO Checker Chrome extension. It analyses a web page only when you click its icon or use its right-click menu. The analysis runs in your browser. The extension has no server, no analytics, and no account system, so we cannot see who uses it or which pages get checked.

• Page content: the extension reads the text, headings, links, and markup of the page you choose. This stays on your device.
• Off-site checks: the page's URL, domain, or brand name is sent to public, read-only services (Wikidata, archive.org, Reddit, Hacker News, Common Crawl, Google Suggest, and Google PageSpeed Insights) to show off-site signals. No page content or personal data is sent.
• Stored data: if you add a PageSpeed Insights API key in the settings, it is kept in your Chrome sync storage and sent only to Google's PageSpeed service.

The extension does not collect, sell, or transfer user data. Uninstalling it removes everything it stored.

• Enquiries, chats, and emails: as long as we need them to reply, deliver agreed work, and keep a record of our business conversations. We delete them on request unless the law requires us to keep them, for example invoice records.
• Google Analytics: under the retention setting of our Analytics property, after which Google deletes event-level data.
• Cal.com, Cloudflare, BunnyCDN, and hosting logs: under each provider's own policy.

Wherever you live, you can ask us to show you the personal data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or send you a copy. You can also object to how we use it or withdraw consent you gave. Email hello@theguidex.com. We reply within 30 days and may ask you to confirm your identity first.

• Legal basis (EU and UK).We use your message or booking to reply and to take steps before a contract. We use analytics and chat cookies only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time through “Cookie settings”.
• India (DPDP Act). For a grievance about your personal data, write to Sunny Kumar at hello@theguidex.com.
• California (CCPA/CPRA). We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context advertising.
• Complaints. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

We are based in India, and the services above run in several countries, including the United States and the European Union. Your data may therefore be processed outside your own country, under each provider's safeguards.

The site is served only over HTTPS. There are no logins or passwords to steal. Access to our Gist, Analytics, and email accounts is limited to the people who run TheGuideX. No system is perfectly secure, so please do not send passwords or payment details through the form or chat.

This site is for businesses and is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, email hello@theguidex.com and we will delete it.

When this policy changes, the date on this page changes with it. If a change affects how existing data is used, we will say so here before it takes effect.
